Journal: Biomedicine Hub
Submission Deadline: August 31, 2026
Biomedicine Hub welcomes submissions for an article collection exploring the interplay between skin barrier integrity and microbiome modulation in dermatology. This collection aims to highlight translational and clinical advances that are reshaping the management of inflammatory skin diseases, acne, rosacea, and sensitive skin.
We welcome Research Articles, Case Reports, Review Articles and Brief Reports on:
- Novel barrier-restoring ingredients and formulations (e.g., ceramides, beta glucan, hypochlorous acid)
- Microbiome-targeted therapies including topical probiotics, postbiotics, and bacteriophage applications
- Environmental stressors and their impact on barrier function (e.g., pollution, blue light, climate)
- Mechanistic insights into barrier dysfunction and microbial dysbiosis
Articles that bridge basic science with clinical applicability are especially encouraged.
Please select the option “Call for Papers: Skin Barrier Science and Microbiome-Based Therapies” when submitting your manuscript and mention this Call for Papers in your cover letter.
Article publication is subject to rigorous peer review in line with the journal's editorial policies. Please refer to our author guidelines for further details about the publication conditions.
