Journal: Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders
Submission Deadline: May 31, 2026
Dementia research has reached a transformative era in all aspects of diagnoses, monitoring and delivery of health outcomes. Each of these milestones comes with new challenges in terms of the effective translation from basic science to full potential as a clinical tool, including health infrastructure, demographic and cultural constraints. In particular, the translation from clinical trials to real world situations where there may be greater heterogeneity in terms of specific dementia subtypes.
The journal Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders (DEMCOG) welcomes studies that identifies the strategies for ensuring effective translation of this knowledge in the context of their specific health care systems, but critically, how the lessons learnt could be generalised for healthcare in other countries. This call for articles aims to collect research articles and reviews describing the latest developments in the research and implementation of approaches relevant to reducing impact of dementia. We will consider original research articles, brief reports, and review articles focusing on, but not strictly limited to, the following topics:
- Feasibility studies of novel approaches to diagnose, monitor or treat people living with dementia, such as the application of the latest blood-based phosphor-tau biomarker to monitor progression of Alzheimer’s disease in a clinical setting.
- Enabling effective health delivery in real world populations, such as the strategies and ethical issues involved in the administration of anti-amyloid immunotherapies within clinical settings.
Please select the option “Call for Papers: Overcoming Roadblocks for Innovative Strategies to Diagnose, Monitor and Treat People Living with Dementia – Lessons Learnt in Real World Situations" when submitting your manuscript and mention this Call for Papers in your cover letter.
Article publication is subject to rigorous peer review in line with the journal's editorial policies. Please refer to our author guidelines for further details about the publication conditions.
As a hybrid journal, Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders supports Open Access publications. Corresponding authors can publish Open Access articles at no or reduced cost if they are associated with or employed by one of these universities/institutions.
