Fluoride remains a cornerstone of dental caries control. As a highly prevalent non-communicable disease, it imposes substantial burdens on individuals and societies, disproportionately affecting socially and economically disadvantaged populations.
This Article Collection welcomes submissions addressing the use of fluoride for caries control in the context of ongoing scientific discussions regarding its benefits and safety. We welcome original research and reviews focusing on toxicology, efficacy, risk assessment, methodological approaches, public perception, and public health.
Interdisciplinary contributions are particularly encouraged, including studies that integrate scientific evidence with health policy development and implementation. Submissions exploring the role of political, regulatory, and societal actors in shaping policies for optimal fluoride use are highly welcome.
By bringing together diverse perspectives, this Collection aims to support informed, evidence-based decision-making and to advance global oral health through the appropriate and balanced use of fluoride.
