Journal: Cells Tissues Organs
Submission Deadline: June 30, 2026
Cells Tissues Organs welcomes research for an article collection that will explore how mechanical cues from molecular sensors to large scale tissue flows shape development. We encourage studies that explain mechanosensitive pathways, material properties, and dynamic behaviors. Submissions across model organisms, organoids, and engineered systems are welcome that provide new insights into how structure and function connect during growth, remodeling and repair.
Topics may include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Large Scale Tissue Movements
- Cell Polarity Modulation
- Electrical Gradients
- Cytoskeletal Determinants and Chirality
- Intercellular Contact Flexibility
- Cilia-(Un)Related Signals and Sensors
- Plasma Membrane Dynamics
- Novel Properties of Extracellular Matrix
- Mathematical Modelling of Mechanotransduction Effects
Please select the option “Call for Papers: Mechanotransduction for Development” when submitting your manuscript and mention this Call for Papers in your cover letter.
Article publication is subject to rigorous peer review in line with the journal's editorial policies. Please refer to our author guidelines for further details about the publication conditions.
As a hybrid journal, Cells Tissues Organs supports Open Access publications. Corresponding authors can publish Open Access articles at no or reduced cost if they are associated with or employed by one of these universities/institutions.
