Journal: Human Heredity

Submission Deadline: June 30, 2026

We are pleased to launch this inaugural call for papers, under the leadership of Human Heredity’s new Editor‑in‑Chief A/Prof. S. Hong Lee, for an article collection to highlight the latest in human and medical genetics research.

We welcome rigorous contributions that bridge population genetics and disease mechanisms, advancing statistical and methodological innovation alongside applied human genetics across medicine, epidemiology, and public health.

Aligned with the mission of Human Heredity, we welcome work on human population and medical genetics and new methods in statistical genetics.

We particularly would like to welcome research articles and reviews that focus on the following, non-exhaustive, list of topics:

  • Genetic Epidemiology and Population Genetics
  • Statistical and Methodological Innovations
  • Genetic Mechanisms of Disease
  • Disease Applications
  • Genomic Technologies
  • Biomarkers and Molecular Genetics
  • Artificial intelligence in genetics research
  • Multiomics
  • Risk factors and prognosis studies
  • Genome-wide association studies including post-GWAS
  • Polygenic risk score prediction (methods and applications)
  • Mendelian randomisation and causal inference in genetics

Please select the option “Call for Papers: New Approaches in Human Heredity” when submitting your manuscript and mention this Call for Papers in your cover letter.

Article publication is subject to rigorous peer review in line with the journal's editorial policies. Please refer to our author guidelines for further details about the publication conditions.
