Skin Pharmacology and Physiology is pleased to launch an article collection dedicated to reviews and systematic reviews. We welcome submissions of comprehensive papers that advance understanding of pharmacological aspects of the skin and skin physiology. This open call welcomes work on new approaches and clinically relevant problems in topical therapy.
Recent research published in the journal has focused on epidermal barrier function, skin penetration mechanisms, and non-invasive studies of skin physiology. We welcome reviews that critically evaluate these, and other areas aligned with the journal’s scope.
Suggested topics include (but are not limited to):
- Modulation of the epidermis and barrier function
- Exogenous influences on skin functions
- Regulatory pathways involved in skin penetration of topical formulations
- Innovative methodologies in skin pharmacology
- Systemic treatments impacting epidermal functions
- Cosmetic studies with relevant effects on skin physiology
